4.4.4 Correlator gating

It is possible to divide the telescope signals into different time segments (`gate' the signals) and to correlate the different segments separately within an integration time. Appropriate hardware gating signals must be available as inputs to the correlator (e.g. a two-state signal defining the on-pulse and off-pulse periods of a pulsar). Each time segment of the gating signal during which the radio astronomy signal is to be correlated requires a separate correlator card per baseline.
