However if you are arriving early or departing late, here are instructions for getting directly to Hulme Hall, in Manchester. ** If you have not already let us know when you are arriving and departing and if you need to stay extra nights please contact us at once! Arrival at Hulme Hall: ** Easter Monday 24 April is a holiday, and although busses and trains will run the times may be different and the last services may be earlier. To check busses ring 0161 228 7811 (GMPTE), to check and coach times see separate links. From Manchester Airport. You can get a bus from the Airport to Hulme Hall. The 43 goes from the Airport Bus Station near Terminal 1 Arrivals. Times: 20 and 50 minutes past each hour, last bus 23:20. Journey takes about 35 mins ands costs 1.60 pounds. Ask to be put off at Hulme Hall, this is in Rusholme just before Whitworth Park and the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Facing in the direction the bus was going, Rusholme Place is on the right, it turns into Oxford Place, and you will see the entrance to Hulme Hall. There is a railway station in the airport, if possible you should get the train to Manchester Oxford Road station. You may have to change at Manchester Piccadilly. The direct journey takes ~20 minutes. The last train leaves the airport at 22:59 pm on weekdays. On Sunday this is 22:48 pm Then see directions below. By Train. The main station is Manchester Picadilly. If possible, get a train which goes to Manchester Oxford Road (usually from Manchester Picadilly Platform 14) and then a bus as below. By Bus from Oxford Road station. Cross the road and get a bus from outside the Palace Theatre, numbers 41,42,43,44,46/7 in the direction of Rusholme. When you get on ask the driver to tell you to get off at Hathersage Road. Continue walking in the same direction until you get to Rusholme Place. This turns into Oxford Place, where Hulme Hall is. If you miss the stop, then walk back from the next stop, it is only a few minutes either way. If you leave the train at Picadilly you can get the same busses but the bus stop is further from the station and harder to find. You can alternatively get a taxi from the station which will cost a few pounds. By Car If you are staying in Hulme Hall there are free parking places on site. LATE ARRIVALS There is a porter on duty until 10pm. If you know you are going to arrive later please let us know in advance. If you just turn up and the gates are closed there is a telephone there to ring the Duty Tutor who will let you in, there might be a short delay. If e.g. your flight is delayed so that you will unexpectedly arrive late, if possible please telephone from the airport to Jodrell Bank 01477 571321, we will collect messages and let the porter know.
